One small step in my life was back in 2012. My Mom had recently passed and I was in need of friends. My sister-in-law convinced me to go to a meet up. It was so much fun! I got involved in more meetups and today I am proud to say that I have met some incredible friends. Meet up truly got me out of the house when I needed it most, but also provided me with a new support system. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had to call on these people for help. I am so very blessed!

One small step in my life was when I was in my early 20's and I was a victim of an attack in my own home by a stranger. It was a process of healing and feeling comfort in my house again (endless nights of sleep along w/a weapon by me at all times) but I had to learn all over again of being safe. One thing I did immediately was seek consoling and the woman who came into my life at this time was the best thing ever! She gave me the strength to regain what was mine and that was me but to be even stronger and more fearless! There is so much more of my story that I don't have enough safe to get deeper into this but I must share this one great advice I told myself while fighting this guy and that was I needed to block out his presence and fight for my life as a blind person, yes, being blind! He had a black mask covering his face and a knife and I knew at that moment I was going to do everything possible to get out of this situation, which I did...ended up biting his thumb pretty much off and giving him the best fight ever from a woman he didn't thing he would of encounter! When I had to move out-of-state for my job a year afterwards I knew I could do it because of the small steps I made prior. And to this day I can fight with everything I have inside me if I need to again! Your small steps are your past and you must grow from it and make it better or you'll be lost.

One small step that changed me was a recent one where I had to speak in public. I was very nervous and felt unprepared. It truly was an exhilarating experience though. And amazingly afterwards, there were people who actually came up to me thanking me for what I said, and how the speech had a positive affect on each individual. It's good to know that I made a positive impact on somebody else. Making others happy and smile makes me happy and smile as well. I would do it again if asked, I would just have to better prepare myself!

One small step that I made that changed my life was as an adult to go to college. Being a single mother and working full-time was a struggle but with the help of my parents (child care while in school after work) I was able to get an associates degree. It took seven years of one class per Semester but I did it and feel I set a good example for my son. It also raised my self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.

My one small step involved giving a demonstration, which involved speaking in public, which I was very terrified of at the time. Doing that demonstration when I was not even a teenager showed me how to prepare myself and my material, have confidence in my delivery and hellped me to find my career in radio production.

One that stands out in my mind is that step to get to the airplane on my way to college. It may seem like just a step but that is the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Which will ultimately lead you towards your career for the rest of your life (or until you retire).

One small step I made was deciding to move from Miami Florida to Arizona to pursue better opportunities as far as jobs and affordable housing. So far, it’s been great! Looking forward to seeing what’s going to happen next.
