How much to care for the elderly?

They are slower in their daily life but not to the extend that they cannot do things on their own.

Should one feed or bath the elderly? or it is better to let them perform these task on their own with some supervision? Will feeding the elderly cause them to loss motor skills and eventually forget how to feed on their own?

We should let the healthy elderly do things on their own. By doing everything for them definitely will make them lose the mobility skills. And also making them lose their dignity Reply

If they thk they can do it , they will want to do it themself , so let them do it else they will feel they are useless . We need to support them , talk to them , be with them , shower them with respect ,love , care , no worries and assurance. Just put themself in your shoe next time, you will know what to do... Reply

spend time with them, talk to them and if they can still handle their own daily needs, by all means let them do so. Reply
