Are there protests going on in your city?

A little over a week ago, George Floyd was killed during an extreme act of police brutality in Minneapolis and since then a growing number of cities nationwide have been experiencing protests.

My city of Boise ID had its first protest on the steps of the State Capitol Building last night and about a 100 people showed up. I watched live footage of it on the local news and thankfully it was a quite vocal but peaceful protest.

Our Constitution guarantees all of us the right to peacefully protest if we so choose. However, we can not continue to tolerate rioting, arson, looting and other acts of violence that are happening in so many cities right now.

I have not seen any vandalizing in my town. In our capital there has been vandalizing and break-ins. People came out the next day to help with the clean-up of broken doors & windows, graffiti, etc.- including our governor who was wiping down graffiti. What a mess! The vandals are curtailing the desperate need for justice for this man, George Floyd and the need for reform of police tactics. It is incredibly overdue. Reply

Yes, even Republican Florida has a few places with smart people. I cannot say this enough: PROTESTERS ARE NOT THE ONES LOOTING AND VANDALIZING. Please note the difference and stand with BLM to assert needed changes in the USA. It has been way too long. Reply

Protesting is fine but looting and acts of violence do not solve anything. It only makes the people doing these acts look bad. They are not protesting, they are just making things worse for their cause. Reply
